I need ideas for non-cheesy things to incorporate into my ceremony?
Sand blending and unity candle are OUT! I hate that sappy crap. If anyone has ideas for something else meaningful that my groom and I can do during our ceremony to elongate it, please let me know. We’re not writing our own vows either. Nor do I want to stand there idle while someone sings or plays a song, that would be weird for me. Most weddings I’ve been to were church weddings so the program is predetermined. Ours is outside and a friend of mine is the officiant so I have to sort of write the program myself. I’m hiring strings to play the processional and recessional and my dog is ring bearer, that’s all I know right now. 6 in the wedding party and about 100 guests. I don’t have the money to release doves or butterflies and I don’t want any crazy expensive flower ideas. But any suggestion may lead to a brainstorm for us to please let me know!
I get what you’re saying. I want to do something for my groom on our wedding day that will be meaningful yet won’t be too sappy, will convey what our marriage means to me, and will put a smile on everyone’s face. So, I’m going to write a poem in a way much like that of Dr. Seuss and have it as one of our readings. To many it would seem silly and childish, but I love poetry, and Muffin and I are both very carefree and willing in our love just as most children are in theirs so I want to convey that. Plus, it keeps down the sap while still being a tad romantic.
I think it’s cool your dog is going to be ring bearer. If I thought Moe wouldn’t bark or try to play or eat our rings during the ceremony, she’s be ours easily.
